Public Schools: Choices that Work
Public School Choice in South Carolina provides students more educational options by encouraging the establishment of Public School Choice programs and structures in districts across the state. Expanded program and structure choices in public education give parents the option to choose an environment best suited for their student's learning needs and interests. Each district or school decides which Public School Choice program or structure fits its learning community. By providing diversified options in public education, South Carolina will continue to prepare its students for graduation and post-secondary pursuits. The intent of public school choice is to increase parental
involvement, provide varied learning environments that may better match
children's different needs, increase school integration, and encourage
educator's creativity - all in the service of improved student achievement
outcomes.
